Strange sight: Car, Hermann Park train collide

HOUSTON – Pictures posted to Twitter Sunday show a sedan and the small passenger train in Hermann Park collided.

The post showed it happened right at the railroad crossing.  Photos show the train lifted up the driver's side of the four-door Honda. The car was pushed up against the curb.

No one answered Monday afternoon at the address in Sugar Land where the car is registered.

The train was back up and running Monday on the nearly two mile loop near the Medical Center. None of the trains or the railroad crossing arm appeared to have a scratch.

A spokesperson for the Houston Parks Department said to check with the Houston Police Department for comment  However, all HPD spokespersons were off Monday for the MLK holiday.
