HOUSTON – A weak front is triggering showers and storms today. Most of the action is up to our north, along I-10 and inside the loop in North Houston. Strong thunderstorms moved through Cypress and Spring this morning. Lightning strikes went from more than 300 around 9 a.m. to just around 50 by 11 a.m. This indicates these storms are weakening as they move quickly east at 15-20 mph.
We could see a few lingering, isolated showers for the rest of the day, but rain chances are not impressive, now down to 30%.

Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s with mostly cloudy skies. It might be a good idea to bring a rain jacket just in case to the Texans game!
