HOUSTON - Severe weather moved quickly though the greater Houston area Friday night.

A Tornado Warning issued for northeastern Harris County and southwestern Liberty County expired at around 8 p.m., and a hour or so later so did a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for most of the area.

The storms brought small hail. lightning, rain and gusty winds.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday, the NWS says doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. The storm was located eight miles northeast of Lake Houston, or nine miles west of Dayton, and  moving northeast at 20mph.

The warning for that storm then expired about 20 minutes later.
