Storm wreaks havoc throughout parts of Houston

HOUSTON – Twisted pieces of metal were scattered around the 4600 block of Beechnut Monday evening.

A storage shed that once stood in the Lowe's parking lot got picked up and tossed around like a toy. Workers spent the evening cleaning up the mess.

Tree branches and twigs also littered some nearby parking lots.

The storm moved through parts of Houston and Bellaire bringing with it lots of heavy downpours and strong winds.

Local 2 viewer Jason Wilson sent pictures of a huge tree that fell on his house in the 4600 block of Maple in Bellaire.

"My wife, son and I were in the living room and saw the wind picking up and it was raining hard," Wilson said.  "Then all of a sudden we heard something hit the roof.  Not knowing what it was we went to the other side of the house."

Wilson said another tree came down in his neighborhood crushing a car.

A huge tree on South Wayside near Capitol also came down in the storm and blocked part of the road until crews were able to remove it.
