HOUSTON - A convenience store clerk said he caught a would-be burglar in the act.
Police responded to reports of a burglary around 5 a.m. Friday at a Gulf Station store on Lyons and Sakowitz.
The clerk told police a man broke in through the roof of the store and was reaching into the back storage room, apparently to get cigarettes.
Police officers climbed onto the roof to search for the suspect, but they said he had already fled the scene.
According to reports, the suspect punched a hole about two-feet in diameter to get inside the store.
No arrests have been made.
