HOUSTON -

After months of waiting, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. statue has been installed.

The official unveiling had to be rescheduled after the statue was damaged just before it was shipped to Houston in April. The 8-foot bronze statue will be revealed Saturday at MacGregor Park.

A celebration is scheduled at MacGregor Park starting at 9 a.m. Saturday with a parade, followed by the unveiling at 11 a.m.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and other community leaders will be on hand for the event.
