Instead of the classroom a Spring ISD teacher and coach headed to court on Friday.
Shae McCutchen is charged with having an improper relationship between educator and student. On Friday morning, McCutchen faced a judge and was read his probable cause.
McCutchen is a football coach and health teacher at Spring Westfield High School. He allegedly had sex with a female student at his home after exchanging phone numbers with her.
His attorney explained what is next with the case.
"He hadn't been indicted yet by a grand jury. We'll get copies of the police report from the district attorney, sit down and visit with him and we will appear back in November," said defense attorney John Pizzitola.
McCutchen was placed on administrative leave back in July and is out on bond. He has been employed at Westfield since 2004.
