Police Lives Matter event raises money for fallen Dallas officers

SPRING, Texas – A few thousand people showed their support for the families of the five fallen Dallas police officers Saturday at a community fundraiser.

The fundraiser, organized by People Helping People, featured live music, food vendors and various art displays. Attendees could purchase “Police Lives Matter” T-shirts and there was also an auction.

All of the money raised will go to the families of the slain police officers.

"I feel like if we don't show them support and they keep getting killed, then before you know it, nobody's going to be signing up for police academy anymore and we're going to lose law enforcement. That's not a world I want to live in, without law enforcement," Charlie Diggs, of People Helping People, said.

About 4,500 people attended the event.
