Sports fundraiser delivers positive message to Houston area youth

HOUSTON – A group of football enthusiasts hit the gridiron Saturday to help children in the Houston area.

The Dynamic Texas Football Association held its fourth-annual Bowl and Championship Game Saturday at Pearland High School's "The Rig" Stadium. The event was hosted by Boykins Youth Foundations, a local organization that helps area children.

The mission is to provide a positive, structured and organized sports environment to the community, said Christopher Boykins, founder of Boykins Youth Foundation.

Boykins told KPRC2 that the Dynamic Texas Football Association encourages its players to develop social and physical skills, and focus on living out their football goals.

"Living in this world you have to focus on an education. And I think sports is an avenue for some people that are not just so smart in the classroom, but have an opportunity to get on the field," Boykins said.

The Dynamic Texas Football Association is comprised of 12 teams in the Houston area and 12 teams in Louisiana.

Funds raised from Saturday's game will benefit Boykins Youth Foundations.
