Stafford Police are searching for two suspects after a shooting that left one man dead and injured a second.
Stafford police said they were called to a business park on Greenbriar Drive and Trinity Drive just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
When they arrived, police said they found one man dead, a second man shot and they also uncovered a gaming operation that was moving a lot of money.
Investigators said dozens of people were inside.
"They're saying a high-stakes gambling was going on here at this location," Lt. James Leedom of SPD said.
Leedom said two armed men stormed the office, demanding wallets and cash off the poker table.
Police say at some point the robbers opened fire, killing 45 year old Donald Leonetti and wounding the game organizer Chuck Olson. Olson operated his vending machine business from the office space.
Olson was released from Memorial Hermann Hospital on Friday.
Leonetti was a well-known Missouri City business man, who operated a graphics company.
Today his family released the following statement:
"Donald Leonetti, founder of Leonetti Graphics was a beloved and favorite member of the Fort Bend and Houston Community. He was an amazing husband, father, employer and friend. His family and friends have a giant whole (sic) in their hearts and are grieving. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. "
Police believe this may have been an inside job by someone with knowledge of the time and place the game was played.
The suspects may have been driving a gold or tan late model Buick LeSabre.
