'Spa Week' offers cheaper ways to relax

HOUSTON – "Spa Week" may help put a dent in the high cost of a pampered good time.

A relaxing day at the spa probably sounds like just what you need, although it may not be what your bank account needs. But coming up next week, your dream day may be a little closer within reach thanks to "Spa Week."

By now, you've probably heard of Restaurant Week, where some of Houston's best restaurants offer fancy meals at reduced prices. Spa Week is a spin off of that. From April 15 through 21, you can head to one of 16 spas in the Houston area to get pampered on the cheap.

"It's a national week for guests to come out and try different services at an affordable rate," said Tina Hay, director at the Spa at Four Seasons in downtown Houston.

If you book at at the Four Seasons, you also get an all-access pass to the hotel's fitness center, sauna and pool for the day. The hotel's spa is offering manicures, pedicures or 50-minute massages for $50 each. There are other services at Houston-area spas, all for that flat $50 price.

Spa Week is in it's fourth year, so these deals are not exactly a secret. If you want to book an appointment, get to it.
