Yu Chan and Anne Spa

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A 38-year-old Chinese woman has been arrested and is facing prostitution charges after investigators conducted an investigation that came to an end on April 2.

Anne Spa, in the 9200 block of Highway 6, was raided by deputies around 2 p.m.

Authorities said they received many calls and emails about Anne Spam claiming that the spa's website had pornographic images on it.

“The sheriff’s office received numerous complaints from residents living in the area who suspected prostitution was being conducted,” said Sheriff Troy E. Nehls.

Two women were inside the business when the raid took place.

Yu Chan was arrested and charged with prostitution.

The other woman was not charged.

"It appeared that prostitution may be taking place in the place of business," Nehls said. "We are going to talk to these girls and find out why they were doing what they were doing."

Both women are Chinese and are in the United States on student visas.

The spa will be closed after the landlord ensured deputies that the lease would be revoked and the business would be permanently closed.

“We will continue to keep a vigilant watch for illicit businesses like this one in order to keep our community clean,” Nehls said. “We will not tolerate this kind of activity and this is yet another step in achieving the goal of making Fort Bend County the best place to live in the Houston area.”

During the investigation, investigators found no evidence of underage girls being involved in the operation, and it didn't appear that human trafficking was involved.

"Are they victims of human trafficking? Do they owe someone? Do they owe someone a certain amount of money for bringing them here?" Nehls said. "That's what I really want to know."
