Southeast Houston cellphone store robbed

HOUSTON – A southeast Houston cellphone store was robbed at gunpoint on Monday.

Houston police said the robbery happened at the Cricket store in the 2800 block of Broadway about 11 a.m.

The man jumped over the counter and demanded cash before he left, detectives said.

The robber was described as Hispanic, 30 to 37 years old and 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds.

The man got away in a two-door maroon GMC extended cab pickup truck with tinted windows. The vehicle did not have a front license plate.
