Source: Former Rockets star may sign with Sugar Land Skeeters

SUGARLAND, Texas – Local 2 has learned that a former Rockets star is looking to give pro baseball a shot.

Sources with the Sugar Land Skeeters told Local 2 Sports Anchor Randy McIlvoy that Tracy McGrady has been working out with the team for two to three months as a pitcher and has been clocked at 91 mph.

McGrady has been a fan of baseball and has always played the the game.

Sources told Local 2 Sports that McGrady has been working with Houstonian and seven time Cy Young winner Roger Clemens. Some of his workouts have been held at Constellation Field in Sugar Land

According to sources, workouts will continue and if progresses continues to be made, McGrady could sign with the Skeeters.

The Skeeters season begins later this spring.
