Plea for info in deputy's cold case murder

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Tuesday on the 42nd anniversary of the murder of HCSO Deputy Edd Williams in hopes of shedding new light on the investigation.

Williams was shot by two attackers while attempting to stop an armed robbery at the Victoria Manor Apartments at 830 Victoria Dr. on Jan. 12, 1974. His unidentified killers were never found.

Williams’ family asked for help from the public. 

Officials also released new sketches of the suspects that show the effects of aging. The two black men were believed to be in their early 20s at the time.
