Smoking robber steals tools from Sugar Land, police say

SUGAR LAND, Texas – A man was caught on surveillance video stealing tools out of a garage, while smoking on Sept. 29.

Police said the robbery happened after 3 p.m. in the 3100 block of East Hickory Circle.

A man told police he left his garage door open and later that evening he noticed his tool in the garage were missing, police said.

The value of the tool totaled to $600, police said.

Surveillance video from a neighbor’s home showed a black vehicle with two people parked at a curb. A man got out the driver seat of the car, quickly walked towards the garage and stole a tool, police said.

Police said he then got out the car again and took another tool before driving away.

The man was described as a heavy built white man with a balding head. He was seen wearing shorts and smoking during the robbery.
