Smoke shop employee opens fire on armed man during robbery attempt

HOUSTON – A man is wanted by police after a botched robbery attempt at a smoke shop in which an employee opened fire on the robber.

An armed man entered the smoke shop in the 6200 block of Westheimer Road on the morning of Aug. 25, pointed a gun at the employee to try to rob the store. However, the employee picked up a gun and shot at the man, who then ran off.

Surveillance video captured images of the man. He is described as a black man, about 19 years old, around 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing a green baseball hat, a black shirt and blue jeans.
