HARRIS COUNTY -

A small plane crash has left two people dead.

This happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday at Hooks Airport on Boudreaux Road in northwest Harris County. Emergency personnel say it appears the plane hit the hangar.

When Harris County Sheriff's deputies arrived, they said the plane was fully engulfed in flames and were unable to approach the wreckage.

Once the fire was finally put out, firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to remove one of the victims.

An FAA spokesperson said the pilot was performing touch-and-go landings when the pilot reported engine problems. According to that spokesperson, the pilot was attempting to land when the plane crashed into the hangar.

Investigators believe the first victim died on impact.

The second victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he also died.

The victim's names have not yet been released.

Investigators said the plane was a single-engine, four seat Cessna that was built in 1980.

The Cessna is registered to WBR Interests LLC.
