Slick roads possible cause of HPD cruiser wreck

HOUSTON - A car accident involving a police officer early Thursday morning may have been caused by slick roads. 

A Houston police officer responding to a call was driving northbound on Hillcroft near Unity in southwest Houston about 4:40 a.m. 

According to the officer, when he tried to go around a car that suddenly slowed down, he swerved on the wet road, slid sideways and hit a small tree.

The front of the car was damaged.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

No injuries were reported.
