Sketches released in Kingwood attacks

Attacks happened 2 miles apart in Kingwood

HOUSTON – Police have released two sketches of a man suspected of trying to assault a boy and trying to rape a woman in Kingwood.

According to investigators, a 12-year-old boy was approached as he was leaving the Bear Branch pool in the 3200 block of Cedar Knolls Drive on Aug. 5. As he was walking out, the man asked the boy for help finding his son and puppy.

The boy ran away screaming.

He described the man as black, 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall and muscular.

Two days later, investigators said the same man tried to attack a 19-year old woman who was walking home along a trail near Greenbelt and North Park Drive.

The man grabbed the woman by the arm, dragged her into a tunnel, choked her and demanded her to undress.

Investigators said the woman fought back and was able to run away.

She described the man as black, in his late 20s to early 30s, 6 feet tall and somewhat muscular.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
