Sketch released of woman sought in northwest Houston shooting

HOUSTON – Police on Tuesday released a sketch of a woman believed to be responsible for the shooting death of a man in northwest Houston last month.

The shooting was reported about 10:50 p.m. June 15 in the 700 block of Pinemont Drive.

Police said Alexander Ortega, 22, was found inside a car on North Shepherd Drive after an officer was flagged down and directed to a vehicle that had stopped in the middle of the street.

Investigators said they believe Ortega was shot outside an apartment complex on Pinemont Drive and then drove away.

The woman believed to be responsible for Ortega’s death was described as black, in her late teens to early 20s with a slim, athletic build.

Police scheduled a 10:30 a.m. news conference to discuss the case.
