Sketch released of Rosenberg child sex assault suspect

ROSENBERG – Rosenberg police are hoping a newly released sketch will help them identify and find a man who is wanted for sexually assaulting a child.

That sexual assault happened at the Regency Inn and Suites right off of Highway 59. A 13-year-old was playing with friends in the parking lot when he was approached by the suspect.

"He is 13, he was just being a kid, he was out playing and wasn't expecting what happened to him to happen," said Lt. Tracie Dunn of the Rosenberg Police Department.

Investigators say the recently reported assault occurred in June at the Regency Inn on Highway 59 in Rosenberg.

"That hotel there just attracts all of the badness," said Diane Villarreal, a neighbor.

Police say the boy was with friends in the neighborhood near the hotel when the suspect forced the boy to go with him into a room.

"Kids that play through the neighborhood, girls, boys, teenagers, young kids, they just kind of roam the streets," said Villarreal.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late teens or early 20s with a skinny build. He has tattoos covering both arms and one on his head.

"He does have a significant tattoo on his head, some type of lines, that was the best that he could describe, and a dragon tattoo on his right shin, so those are very specific, so we do hope that that will trigger a memory, or a person to come forward," said Dunn.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect is asked to call Det. J. White at the Rosenberg Police Department at 832-595-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
