Sketch released of man wanted for robbing woman at gunpoint in Richmond

Richmond police have released a sketch of a man who stole a woman's purse at gunpoint.

RICHMOND, Texas – Richmond police have released a sketch of a man they say stole a woman's purse at gunpoint in broad daylight.

The robbery happened in downtown Richmond around 1 p.m. on Feb. 4.

Officials said the woman and her husband had just eaten lunch when they were getting into their vehicle in the 100 block of South 4th Street. The husband was seated in the vehicle when the robber approached the woman and demanded for her purse.

Police said the man was armed with a gun believed to be a black semi-automatic pistol.

Authorities said the woman gave the man her purse.

He was last seen running westbound on Calhoun Street.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

Police described the robber as a black man, approximately 19-20 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, short hair on the sides and flat on the top. He was "clean-cut" and last seen wearing a grey wool letterman-type jacket with blue sleeves.
