HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -

The Harris County Sheriff's Office has released a composite sketch of the man who investigators say attacked, raped and robbed a 63-year-old woman in her apartment at the Primrose at Heritage Park Senior Living Community on Old Bammel North Houston in northwest Harris County.

Investigators say the suspect broke into an apartment in the 10000 block of Old Bammel North in northwest Harris County in the early hours of June 20. The victim told deputies her attacker got in by kicking in the patio door.

He then raped her, and threatened to kill her if she did not comply.  Before taking off on foot, the suspect demanded money and other items.

With a rapist on the loose, frightened residents say the attack is shedding the spotlight on what they claim is a lack of adequate security.

"We are our own security. We have to fend for ourselves," said Barbara Cooper.

On Wednesday, upset residents joined community activist Quanell X in a call for action. He says property management could be doing more.

"In giving out safety tips and also addressing legitimate safety concerns before and after this aggravated sexual assault of one of the residents," he said.

While Local 2 was out the property Wednesday, the main security gate was closed. When our news crew was there Friday, it was wide open.

A security officer was at the complex near the leasing officer on Wednesday. Residents say they were surprised to see him.

"That's the first time we ever saw that guy," Cooper said.

Residents say they love where they live and being on a fixed income means they can't afford to move. They say all they want is their sense of security back.

"You don't jump up and move. You go somewhere else and it happens to you. You don't run. You gotta keep the faith and just trust in the Lord, you know," Robbie Robinson said.

As for the victim, she was taken to the hospital.

The suspect is described as being between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 foot 9 to 6 feet tall and having a big build with a large belly.  He had marks underneath both eyes. He was wearing a blue and white striped collar shirt, blue denim shorts and black suede shoes.

Anyone with information about this suspect's identity and/or location is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or send a tip via iWatchHarrisCounty.
