Girl attacked while walking in 16600 block of Spring Cypress Road #crimestoppers

HOUSTON – A composite sketch was released Tuesday in the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in northwest Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the girl was walking west in the 16600 block of Spring Cypress Road at around 11 p.m. on Feb. 5 when a male approached her from behind, dragged her into a field and sexually assaulted her.

The girl was then struck in the head by a blunt object several times before the suspect fled.

The victim walked to a nearby business, where someone called 911.

There were not witnesses to the attack, but the man was spotted at a convenience store where he apparently went to clean up. A bloody shirt believed to be connected to the assault was found in a restroom.

"I saw him when he opened the door, and then he walked real fast toward the restroom," said Sam Baba. "When he came over here, he was wearing the gray shirt, light gray shirt, which was, like, bloody. When he came out (of the restroom), he was, like, wearing nothing -- only the white, inside undergarment."

Baba said the man had scratches on his body and he squeezed and relaxed his fists, as if they were sore. Blood was found smeared on the walls and floors of the restroom, Baba said.

Detectives said descriptions given by the victim and witnesses at the convenience store helped them create the sketch.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin muscular build and wearing dark colored clothing.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in the case. If anyone observed the victim walking along Spring Cypress Road and Barker Cypress Road between the hours of 10:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Friday or has any information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (84770).
