Skateboarder struck by hit-and-run driver in front of middle school

HOUSTON – A young skateboarder was taken to the hospital Thursday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Spring Branch, according to Houston police.

Police said the skateboarder was in front of Landrum Middle School in the 2200 block of Ridgecrest when the teen was struck by a vehicle around 1:15 p.m.

The teenager was transported to Ben Taub Hospital with serious head injuries.

School is not in session.

The driver fled the scene.
