VICTORIA, Texas – Federal investigators announced a “significant update” Thursday in the investigation of a fire at a mosque in Victoria.
The fire was reported Jan. 28 at the Islamic Center of Victoria.

In March, investigators said that the suspect in the case, Marq Vincent Perez, was arrested in connection with an unrelated incident.
Perez has been charged with a hate crime in this case.
