HOUSTON – The Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Houston Automobile Dealers Association presented a check to the 100 Club, earmarking the money for injured HFD Captain William Dowling's family.
The check for $100,000 was presented by the HADA president, Wyatt Wainwright and chairman, Joe Chastang, and HCSO on Wednesday.

The 100 Club's board of directors, that has supported the dependents of firefighters and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty for the passed 60 years, unanimously voted to "pick up the tab" for Forrest, Faith and Foster Dowling's post high school education, According to Rick Hartley, of the 100 Club.
Dowling was critically injured fighting the 5-alarm fire on May 31.
Forrest Dowling, the oldest of the trio, plans to follow in his father's footsteps and become a marine.
"I've always wanted to go into the Marine Corps ever since I was little, my dad told me he wanted to be a marine, so that's one of the biggest honors I can possibly do is to be a marine like my dad and uncle," Forrest said.
Capt. Dowling's father, Rick Dowling, says the contribution means a lot to the family.
"When William wakes up it's going to be such a relief to him because he'll be worried about, 'How will I take care of my family?' He's always worked more than one job to provide, and that will be such a comfort to him," Rick Dowling said.
According to the 100 Club, they are also prepared to provide the family with additional financial help after the family's needs have been assessed.
