Seventh grader arrested over Missouri City school threat

Anonymous tip claimed weapon on campus

MISSOURI CITY, Texas -  A seventh-grade student was arrested and charged with terroristic threats Monday after a Missouri City middle school was placed on lockdown.

Investigators searched the school after officials received an anonymous tip that there was a weapon on campus.

Fort Bend ISD police and campus administrators immediately began an investigation at Lake Olympia Middle School. Officials from the school district said the usual bell and lunch schedule were delayed, and students were told to remain in their second period classes, but were allowed to have a structured lunch.

"Students remained in a secure environment with their teacher while campus administration and the district police conducted the investigation," according to the official statement.

Parents were notified by a telephone call through the parent notification system.

No weapon was found at the school.

"As part of the ongoing Fort Bend ISD police investigation at Lake Olympia Middle School today, a seventh-grade male student was arrested and charged with terroristic threat and places weapons prohibited," according to a statement from the school.
