HOUSTON -

Seven people woke up to their Midtown house filled with smoke and flames, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters said the fire started around 1:45 a.m. Monday in a two-story home on Francis and Caroline.

When firefighters arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames.

According to investigators, the high winds fueled the flames causing it to spread very quickly. The fire was tapped out about two hours later.

Firefighters said the house suffered significant damage and was a total loss.

All seven people living at the home made it out safely without injury.

Arson is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
