Senior citizen escapes burning home

HOUSTON – A senior citizen managed to escape his burning home after an early morning fire Friday.

The fire started around 5 a.m. at the man's house on Territory Lane near Red Wolf Lane in northwest Harris County.

According to investigators, the senior citizen was home alone at the time. He managed to get out safely.

Cy-Fair volunteer firefighters doused the flames, but the top floor of the home and attic were both damaged in the fire.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Friday morning.
