The semi-truck driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in north Harris County early Friday morning will not face any charges.
According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, the semi-truck hit a man trying to walk across the East Freeway at Freeport Street. The driver told deputies he didn’t realize he hit someone and kept driving to his destination.
Once he arrived, he got out and noticed his front light was busted. Deputies said he then drove his personal SUV back to the scene and discovered what happened.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office refused to file charges against the driver because he returned to the scene.
