HOUSTON - A semi truck cab hanging off the outbound East Freeway overpass at Greg Street caused traffic problems for drivers Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to Houston TranStar.
Houston police say the cab was being towed eastbound by another truck when it somehow became detached. That's when the semi started spinning and ended up hanging over the side of the overpass.
It is unclear how it became detached, but officials said the driver is likely to be cited.
The cab was removed from the overpass around 10:10 a.m. and all East Freeway lanes reopened to traffic. Traffic was backed up for several miles while crews were at the scene.
TxDOT crews are surveying the damage to the East Freeway because a large chunk is missing from the barrier.
