HPD: three suspects took off running

HOUSTON – A Seal Security guard was shot to death after responding to a fire in north Houston.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday near Casa Grande and Buckle.

According to reports, the security guard approached three men who were walking away from the fire when one of the suspects pulled a gun and shot the guard in the head.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Seal Security said the company has never had to deal with the loss of one of their officers.

"It's a total shock and an extremely difficult day," said James Alexander, Director of Operations for Seal Security. "He [was] an excellent officer and took his job very seriously."

Police said all three suspects in the shooting got away.
