Search underway for 3 armed suspects who tried to rob convenience store

HOUSTON – A clerk was alone inside that gas station in southwest Houston when three men stormed in with guns drawn.

Those crooks started shooting, but the bullets bounced off the bulletproof glass, saving the clerk's life.

At around 8:30 Friday morning, Mohammed Pervez was doing paperwork inside a convenience store on Mykawa and the South Loop when three armed men dressed in black came in and tried to rob the place.

He told us they threatened him and yelled to open the door. But knowing he was behind bulletproof glass, Pervez locked the door, ran in the back, and started praying.

"Suddenly three gunmen came and they told me hands up, and I put my hands up, and they say open the door, but this glass is bulletproof so I wasn't afraid, so I came on this side, there was only one lock on the door, and I came and locked this door, and I went over there, so after some time, they fired two or three fires, but then they are afraid and they run away I think," said Pervez.

The bullets left holes in the door. After that didn't work, the suspects ran away empty-handed.

If you have any information, you are asked to call the Houston Police Department.
