Seafood consumption advisory on spotted Seatrout removed for most of Galveston Bay
Advisory had covered most of Galveston Bay
The Galveston Bay Foundation has removed the seafood consumption advisory on spotted seatrout (speckled trout) for most of the Galveston Bay system.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, testing of the speckled trout samples indicated that concentrations of toxic compounds had decreased to acceptable levels and no longer pose a significant health risk.
The seafood consumption advisory had covered a portion of Upper Galveston Bay and all of Trinity, Lower Galveston, East, West, Chocolate, Drum, Bastrop, and Christmas bays.
