MISSOURI CITY, Texas - A stranger offered a middle school student a ride in Fort Bend County, school officials said.

Lake Olympia Middle School, 3100 Lake Olympia Parkway, sent a letter home to parents to tell them that a student reported that he was approached by a stranger near the intersection of Hunter Green and Hardwood Glen about 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

School officials said the man asked the student several times if he was lost and needed a ride to school.

The man was described as black, 50 to 60 years old with a stocky build, gray facial hair and balding. He was wearing glasses with thin frames and driving a black Lexus or Mercedes.

The Fort Bend Independent School District has increased patrols near the school.
