School employee investigated after misconduct allegation

CLUTE, Texas – A Brazoria County school employee has been placed on leave after allegations of inappropriate conduct with a student were made.

A school district representative said the investigation has just started and declined to release any details. Clute police are investigating, and they, too, declined to comment.

Sources told KPRC Local 2 that the employee is a male teacher at Brazoswood High School and that the student involved is an 18-year-old female.

Parents said they have not been notified about the investigation.

"Normally the school is real quick to send out letters or emails to let us know," mother Janet Jones said. "I haven't heard anything."

Inappropriate conduct with a student is a second-degree felony that carries a punishment of up to 20 years in state prison.
