HOUSTON - The severe weather in the Houston area has caused some school districts to delay or cancel classes and activities on Thursday.
Houston ISD has cancelled all after-school activities, including sports for Thursday afternoon. According to the district's Twitter page, schools will dismiss on time and buses will run on schedule.
Huntsville ISD delayed the start of the school day by two hours. The district says the delay "will allow us the necessary time to inspect the roadways in the daylight to make the safest decisions possible for student travel. Shepherd ISD officials announced that classes for Thursday have been cancelled. Originally, the district said the start of the school day would be delayed, but later cancelled classes. Click here for more information.
