HOUSTON – Three burglary suspects were arrested Wednesday after they tried to steal from a northwest Houston elementary school, officials said.
Police said the trio broke into J.G. Osborne Elementary School, 800 Ringold Street, at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday and were targeting computers and other valuables.
However, a silent alarm was triggered, and HISD and Houston Police officers were outside when the crooks left the building, investigators said.
The suspects ran off and two were captured a short time later. A third tried hiding inside the school but was found by a K-9 officer, police said. He was treated for a dog bite.
The suspects' names were not released.
HISD called a maintenance worker to repair the damage the suspects did to the building.
