Some Houston streets to be repaired in 2015

HOUSTON – Drivers in the city of Houston are accustomed to dodging potholes or driving over bad roads.

The city's Public Works and Engineering Department is working on a new list of streets that will be repaired in 2015 and Channel 2 was able to obtain some of them ahead of time.

Woodway between Voss and Chimney Rock, Bellfort between MLK and I-34, South Post Oak between the Beltway and FM 2234  and Cambridge between Old Spanish Trail and Holly Hall are on the list.

One major road on the to-do list is Richmond Avenue but it's unclear when the project will start.

Public Works spokesman Alvin Wright said, "Anytime that you look at a major road project that has to be redone,  there are a lot of other components involved in that, too. Richmond is a major transportation or transit corridor so that one is still being studied, still being looked at."

Drivers are just hoping there are repairs sooner than later because they say it's not only frustrating but bad for their cars.

One driver said, "We replace our tires so often because if we hit a pot hole wrong, it makes your tire flat. We just spent a $1,000 on one of my van tires because we hit the hole so hard."
