Man flees after crashing pickup into northwest Houston home

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for a man who fled the scene after crashing his truck into a home in northwest Houston early Friday.

According to police, a man was driving a red pickup truck on Knox near Homer around midnight when he lost control, left the roadway and crashed into a house.

The driver hopped out and fled on foot.

An elderly woman inside the home was asleep at the time of the crash, but her bedroom was on the opposite side of the house.  She was not injured.

The truck also knocked down a power line next door to the house, which caused a power outage.

Police said the truck was not stolen and the driver is believed to live in the area.
