Rosenberg police find $170,000 in marijuana during traffic stop

ROSENBERG, Texas – Rosenberg police have arrested two men who are accused of towing a boat loaded up with marijuana.

K-9 investigator Schnacky stopped a Ford F-150 towing a boat Sunday night for a traffic violation in the 2500 block of Avenue H.

Officer Schnacky said when he asked the driver and passenger where they were going, their stories were inconsistent.

Investigator Schnacky got his K-9 partner "Rex" who conducted a sniff of the vehicle and the boat. The boat was subsequently searched, and the Rosenberg Police Department said that's when multiple hidden compartments were located.

According to the police, the compartments contained a total of 155 individually-wrapped bundles of suspected marijuana, with a total weight of approximately 562 pounds.

Police said the drugs have an estimated value of approximately $170,000.
