HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Everyone was able to safely get out of their apartment before a fire swept through a northwest Harris County apartment building, officials said.

Firefighters were called to building No. 5 of the Park Trails Apartment complex near Blue Ash Drive and Barren Springs drives around 3 a.m. Sunday.

When the Little York Fire Department arrived, they immediately called for assistance when they noticed the fire had swept through the building and the roof was beginning to collapse, authorities said.

According to firefighters the fire had started on the second floor and crawled to the third floor, destroying six units within the building.

Officials said the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Harris County Fire Marshal.
