HOUSTON -

Police are investigating the cause of a deadly rollover car crash in southeast Houston.

The accident happened in the intersection of Fuqua and Monroe Street around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the Houston Police Department, a woman was driving westbound on Fuqua when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of her SUV.

The SUV skidded into a barbed wire fence along the side of the road, ran into a tree and flipped upside down in the field.

Officials said the 29 year-old Hispanic woman died on impact.

The victim crashed just a little over a mile from her parent's home.

Family and friends of the victim are devastated that a woman so full of life is now gone.

Alicia Bautista said the victim was like a daughter to her.

The victim's name was not released, but Local 2 was told she attended Milby High School

Police are still investigating the crash but say speed was a factor.
