The Houston Livestock and Rodeo said anyone who rides on a golf cart will be required to buckle up.

The rodeo said seat belts have been installed on 70 six-seater golf carts.

The rodeo has expanded its training policy. In previous years, all drivers on its transportation committee were trained on the golf carts.

Now all volunteers and staff who are issued golf carts are undergoing training.

The changes come one year after a woman was thrown from a golf cart. She suffered a life-altering head injury.
