HOUSTON – A robbery Thursday at a cellphone store near downtown Houston ended with a chase and the arrests of two people, police said.
The robbery was reported about 3 p.m. at the AT&T store near Studemont Street and Washington Avenue.
According to Houston police, two men robbed the store and fled. They said officers later spotted the men in a vehicle near Jensen Drive and Lyons Avenue. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped off, police said.
Officers pursued the vehicle. They said the men jumped out of the vehicle near Davis and Sumpter streets.
The two men were detained after a brief search, police said.
