Robbers throw bank loot out window while fleeing, police say

HOUSTON – Loot from a bank robbery was scattered Thursday across an intersection in southwest Houston.

The robbery was reported about 1:30 p.m. at the BBVA Compass bank at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and Fannin Street.

According to Houston police, the robbers threw cash taken during the crime out the window of their getaway vehicle.

Pictures from the scene showed people grabbing wads of cash that were lying in the intersection. Other pictures showed someone holding a plastic bag full of cash that appeared to have been stained with dye.

Video from Sky 2 showed several police cruisers at the bank and in the street. The intersection seemed to be clear of cash by the time Sky 2 arrived.
