HOUSTON -

Police said a stolen pickup truck was used to ram into a northwest Houston convenience store early Thursday morning.

Investigators said the driver rammed a Ford pickup into the side of the Valero Corner Store on Gessner and Hammerly.

Police said after hitting the store two times, the truck smashed through the wall and damaged a door.

The store was open at the time, but the clerk inside was not hurt.

Investigators said the suspects tried to take the ATM, but were not successful.

Police said the suspects took off in the truck, drove several blocks and then abandoned the truck.

When Houston police officers found the vehicle, the suspects were gone.
