HOUSTON -

While a lot of people are heading out of town of Labor Day weekend, many are expected to stay in the Houston area.

Because of that, the City of Houston Parks & Recreation Department wants those who are planning to go to Hermann Park to consider taking the METRO.

Park officials expect it to be a popular destination through the holiday.

To avoid problems, park visitors are encouraged to take a METRO bus or ride the METRORail to Hermann Park, which is free through Monday.

If you’re taking the train, you can get hope on at several rail stations between Downtown and the Fannin South.

If you do decide to drive, Houston police will close off traffic inside the park when the lots inside are full.
